18 I tell you that you are Peter,[a] and it is on this rock[b] that I will build my congregation,[c] and the powers of hell[d] will not conquer it. 19 I will give you the keys to the kingdom from[e] heaven. Whatever you prohibit on earth will have been prohibited[f] in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will have been permitted[g] in heaven.”
20 Then he strictly ordered the disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.[h]
